Welcome Geoff and enjoy your new camera! The D70 offers tremendous creative possibility (different lenses give you different effects in term of depth of field, angle of view, etc) and it's a very fast camera, you'll never miss a shot. As any tool, the longer you use it, the better the results!

Geoff, Welcome to the group, i am sure you woll learn everything there is to know about this obsession we all share with this camera. It is a great tool as you said so get to know it and what it is capable of and lens lust will hit you as well at some stage so start saving but most important have fun with it and try different things is a good way to learn.
