he unloaded an 1hour talk about "investing" in amways' mulitlevel marketing.
you know invest XX get "a" product for X and sell for XX
recuit more ppl and get "a" product for even less XX.
the fun part was that if i were to recuit 50 more ppl +21 + 21 ppl
in some tree diagram. which look like a "pyramid".
i would get cash bounus and holidays.

sounds like another "legal" pyramid scheme.

I think there is a silent "SC" in front of AMWAY

Invest your money in Nikon lenses instead !

I don't know whats wrong with you aussie's but I had never heard of Amway until I came here. Then in the space of 3 weeks I was hounded by a 3 seperate sales guru's going on about "passive income" and retirement at the age of 27!!!

Network 21 was the disguise but Amway was at the end of the chain. My father always taught me that the only way to wealth is......

Amway always sounded like a bad train to me.

Then I saw the movie Go and that pretty much put things into perspective.

Now, anytime someone mentions Amway to me, I just refer them to the movie Go...

Redline Sorry to here that you have lost a friend some times it takes many years before they show their true colours .
Next thing he will be on the bluge because he has fallen on hard times .My advice is lend him $100 and you will never see him again.

sounds like some people have been burnt.... or just rolling with the crowd. I have had affilitation with Amway for a number of years and find it is often misunderstood. But perhaps I had better go check in the mirror to see if I'm growing horns yet

I understand the concerns that are obvious in this thred and some of the people who are (or were) affiliated with Amway can be a pain in the butt, etc etc. As mentioned before they don't last long before they quit.

I'm not looking for debate and hope I have offended no one. Just wanted to speak up before too many sweeping generalisations were made

Cheers,
Craig

Hi Craig...

i am not an Amway distributor, but know a few people who are. They seem to be more interested in the quality of the products (which i use and love) rather than creating a network. I think the products get overlooked in the "business building".

Just putting my "not all of us think Amway is all bad" comment in.

I'm from Cambridge England philipb.

Not sure about the quality of the products that I saw on the Network 21 affiliated website.

I might have been a bit more receptive if I had thought they were selling a quality product but that didn't appear to be the case. From what I saw the main money generating factor was getting new people involved and their $100.

were you asked to watch "Pablo the pipemaker?"
oh dear.

anyway i dug deeper and found this
http://www.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/disp. ... =%5e+amway

it explained why the "holidays" promised under the sceme were called ALS, in which my friend explained as all expenses paided holidays.
far from the true according to what said in the article
brief referred it as Australian leadship Semiar, in which ppl got paided for acc etc.
interesting thing is that, amway was trying to claim about 1.5million as a tax expenses' for these so called "holidays"

theres heaps of this stuff about amway on the net, i guess eveyone wants their dream to come true.
