Hi Loz,
Don't be too upset, there will be a next time. I know it said 'in original box' but what condition was the camera in? Did they tell you? Don't mean to be sceptical but you gotta wonder at a price like that...

Perhaps with jammed shutter release or did not power up at switch on  A brand new empty box costs AU$ 10.00
I doubt it very much with its price tag

He reckons 'VGC' (Very Good Condition) as per above post. He could be lying however at that price...

Though I do wonder how many mint "unused" DSLR are in peoples cupboard.

Many (one in say 20?) families have a slr....now superceded by P&S, gathering dust

Some of my friends bought one after me (not all Nikons but you know what I mean) and most of them in the closet gathering dust...........

I don't know about this particular camera but the fact that it was advertised in the trading post tells me the person was not that familiar with it nor the value.
I'm back

I spoke with the seller he is a PRO and has up dated his equipment several times since purchasing the D100 his quote (the D100 is just old technology now tried to sell it for $1200 and had no offers so I just decided to get rid of it ) He has purchased a D2x maybe I should ask him for first offer when he upgrades to a D3x

A Pro's D100! then what's the life expectancy of its after few years in use? It's just about to be the paperweight if it comes out the Pro's hand.

I was thinking the same thing, although I think the price of the new D70s is attractive already anyway, no need to buy a D100 for that price...
