2nd hand glass

Postby edneeves on Thu Aug 11, 2005 7:50 pm

I have been looking for a bargain piece of glass but was looking for a little more info.

I have been looking at used 70-210's and the 80-200 4.5-5.6 D, I know a fair bit about the former but it was the latter that I would appreciate some views on.

I have had a look on Ken Rockwells site but he doesn't seem to have a review on this particular piece of glass, bit of a pity because I really value his critiques.

Any info would be gratefully appreciated.

Ed.

The late Galen Rowell was a fan of the 80-200 f/4.5-5.6, written in depth at Thom Hogan's website: http://www.bythom.com/80200ens.htm

I trust Thom Hogan far more, you have to take KR's reviews with a grain of salt (I guess as with everyone's) Ken really has his favorites and tends to bash everything else undermining his objectivity. Either way, good luck!!!!

The 80-200 f/4.5-5.6 is another example of the old good Nikkor glass.
I had it long ago.
I don't listen to KR's
