We have the script for that and we should be getting it into place later on tonight.

I need to code the page that'll integrate everything in one nice place for everyone...

Can I get a show of people who won't be attending the AW who are interested in using this technology and watching / listening to the event via this means? :)

Will we try it out as testing at tomorrow night?

We have enough logistical issues just getting to the restaurant at a reasonable time tomorrow evening, let alone grabbing the hardware and setting up, so, sadly, no.

Leigh an I will be doing some unwired testing this evening though, and we'll know tonight whenther we're running or not.

Unfortunately I still can't get it. I realise it's a problem at my end.

Not you, Nnnnsic, as I know you have your hands full, but anyone else:

- what comes up when you click that link?
- what program is it using to show you stream (eg Windows media player or similar?)
- if anyone else had to change their Norton settings in order to access the stream, pls let me know what you did....

I regularly access other streams on the net, so dunno why this one isn't working... hmpf. :? :x

144 x 108 seems okay.

And pixelated... yeah... well with our 512 upload, we have to make as many sacrifices as we can so I'm working on sacrificing pixelation issues for size.

Audio seems like it might be okay. We'll be testing that too later tonight.

It's definitely a Norton problem - if I disable the firewall long enough to connect, it works.... not a great option but better than not being able to connect at all....

Shall keep looking.... there's obviously a setting somewhere that I have to change...

Cheers :)

Edit: will also try latest version of Flash Player 7, just in case that helps... thanks for the suggestions, peoples....

Aussie Dave - I just went into Norton Internet Security, clicked on Personal Firewall > Off... then refreshed (the stream link), and it connected. Then I turned the firewall back on, and it stayed connected (it seems to have stopped while I was typing this but I think that is something to do with Nnnnsic's current tests...)

I haven't yet put in the "refresh" button at the bottom of the page.

There is already a "force refresh" active at 2 minutes viewing of the page.

However, you will need to refresh if the image stops. I'm not entirely sure what's going on and I'll try to chase up that bug tomorrow.

Dad hasn't got a mic.

I'm about to switch him over to one of the older DV cam's. You will notice a quality issue.

White screen people: try a force refresh. Ctrl+F5 should do the trick in Firefox or Mozilla-based browsers.

I have known Flash to not load as a result of caching issues in my development times with it so try a force refresh and see if it makes a difference.

Not sure if this might be on any help, but a few weeks ago we had a rather important presentation given to us over the internet by the CEO of our company (He's in the states).

The visual side was taken care of by some third party 'on-line' application (complete with your own handler to sort it for you). But the audio was provided via Skype.

I thought that it would be asking for all sorts of trouble - feeds not synced (sp?) etc, but it worked a treat.

I'm sure you'll have good sound sorted with the system you are working on, but if not maybe try Skype?

Whilst I'm not entirely familiar with Skype, I highly doubt we can send both the video and the audio out to more than one user at the same time, which is what this app lets us do.

I am aware of third-party Flash Comm server groups that do it for you like Akamai and VitalStream, however, that's out of our budget for what we're doing here.

And I am on the camera thing at the moment, provided my wireless connection doesn't fog out on me... it has a few times tonight already... but I have turned off the sound.

And now I have chat with the video... thanks Dad for setting that one up and thanks Darren Gates at TUFaT.com for making FlashChat. :)

Let's do some testing, peoples!
