These has been leaked two months ago at the mini meet which members asked me over the forum and I said I can't reply nor telling them what's going on.

It has been discussed in a seminar with Epson about new products in the 3rd + 4th quarter of 2005.

Now, you guy have to save up for this new toys, the Epson P2000 is not official launch and marketing in Australia at the beginning of its release but this one will have the product launch or announcemnt sometime next month or November with Epson Australia.

The stock of Epson P2000 sold in Australia are the surpluses from Japan and other Asia market. Australian Epson fans got the trashes from them.

Yes, the P-4000 is the updated version of the P-2000.

The difference are:
- P-4000 has 3.5" LCD and P-2000 has 3.8" LCD
- P-4000 has 80Gb Hdd and P-2000 has 40Gb drive
- P-4000 has 2600mAh batteries and P-2000 with 2300mAH
- P-4000 US$629.00 and P-2000 is US$499.00 (MSRP)

Most of other features are remaining same in both versions, perhaps new firmware with the P-4000, with new features as zooming the RAW photos.

If anyone can source the Epson P-2000 at the good price then please do so, but I don't think you'll be lucky enough in Australia market, perhaps in HKG or Japan, I had a confirmation of price of the P-2000 is remaining as same as before (in HKG) after the announcement from Japan.

It's about 12 months since the P-2000 released, I got my at Xmas time last year.

At the moment, there are two P2000 on eBay, both new and in Australia;

Australia is always behind other countries in selling new products.
The P-2000 was available in other market since last Oct. The P-2000 was only officially available in Australia last May.
You can buy them O/S, lot quicker and have it ready to use.
