One of my team in Sydney has just returned from a trip to South America, and she has lots of digital images. 600 in fact.

She wants to get prints - snapshot size.

Can anyone suggest a place where there would be a reasonable deal for lots of prints?

Dunno about reasonable deals, but there's a hardley Normal @ Martin Place, and then as she heads further south in the city, G&V Imaging, Ted's, Fletchers and Woolies. Not sure about Woolies, but all of the others should be able to do the work.

Quality and price is an udder story.

Big W (agfa dlab) seems pretty good for 6x4" snapshots. I have never had any image quality issues for them.

The one near me does 38c per print which is $228 for 600 prints. (If you decide all 600 are worth printing).

For most people, that will be cheaper than printing it from home. 150 sheets of photo paper alone will cost something similar to that, forget about ink, the couple of sheets of paper you lose when the red cartridge runs out and you need to reprint them. A year ago I would have suggested print yourself, but I think the price point has now crossed over where it is cheaper to get someone else to do it. Prices steeply rise for anything over 6x4 though, so they may still be best done at home.

That's true. Epson ink lasts longer than Canon ink. (Or so i'm led to believe)

But the beauty is, that so long as you have the original, you can print it out again in ten years when the ink starts to fade

I can do them for 80 cents each.
That would just cover me for the paper

Hardley Normal does them for 40c a shot and the quality in my experience was pretty good.
