Oh well! shipped by FedEx, ready to pull out your CC and give them all the details of your purchases as proof of payment, valued of the lens.
Remember they will charge you $56.00 for Customs Clearance fees on top of the GST payable. Act now! otherwise it'll be holding at least few more days.

As mentioned in few other threads! and you guys should take note keep it as your Bible.
For personal use and want something simple, buying from US: just request to ship by USPS/ Global Express Mail, more easy to deal with.

It's not normal when you saw that statement on FedEx site and it's my experience.
However, there is no info as yet from Customs...so will find out tommorrow. The delivery date is tommorrow.....
Their Call Centre won't do much about it unless you can talk to local FedEx/ Customs Brokerga Agents.
But sometimes you may escape the ransom as yeosca's D2h body before.
Good luck!!!!!
Edit: Actually, it's from the FedEx Customs Brokerage Agent, no real ACS direct dealing in this, UPS & FedEx has their own Customs Clearance Dept. links to ACS.On another words they're on behalf of ACS to work with you.

bad news, lens is at customs.
Customs wants an invoice declaring value of lens.
My friend does not have the original invoice....can he just write a letter stating the price of the lens?

Hi Birddog,
Slow....just got the required info to them this morning. Now the waiting game begins...just called them, and they said customs is impementing a new system...so there are delays. The fedex custom rep has sent the info to customs...now we just wait until customs get back to her.
tick..tick...tick.....tick.......

They are just boo and giving you the hot manure!
They do their own Customs clearance inhouse right in Alexandria.
Few days in their holding yard if you don't push hard.
Perhaps one of them wants to try and experiment with your 70-200VR on a wedding shoot at the weekend

Leave it for them to play with the 70-200VR over the weekend and they will release it to you on Monday with a nice ransom

Vince, if you can't get it by the weekend you're more than welcome to borrow mine, I'll be at uni all weekend so I won't have a chance to use it.

It's very narrow chance for you to have it by tomorrow, unless there's a miracle.
I dealt with them on a daily basic and I knew how their system worked, same as UPS, DHL and Australia Post/ EMS.
I had few lenses yesterday and today via FedEx, of course I had to pay ransom but no delay, as soon as it off the aircraft in the morning, I'll have them by 1:00pm,

No, it won't sit still in their quarantine area, perhaps in the hands of one of the wedding shooter, just for the weekend

Not too long ago, do you remember the Qantas bagage handler, removed the KingKong suit and put it on him walked around the tarmac, in front of the owner
All can be done!!!!!

Try once more time tomorrow, give them a call and demand the answer.
Don't sit there and wait!
UPS Sydney hated me a lot, I abused them heavy everytime they got my shipping. I just didn't care and talked strongly with my demand, agreed to pay the ransom and where is my shipping? They delivered it after 1/2 hour later to my door.
