Frames around images and printing

I have recently seen some beautiful images posted on the forum which have been improved by the use of frames (photoshop action). I was wondering whether people just used these frames for web viewing or actually print the photo with the created frame as well? Would be interested to see what the response is here....

I mainly use them for web viewing...but sometimes I print out the odd photo that turns out really well @ work on the colour laser printer to put up on the wall.

If I was having the photo printed properly (ie. at a lab), I would not print it with the frame as , you suggested, a physical frame is likely to go around it anyway - and it might look a bit funny having both

They're great for viewing online though. I know some people cannot stand frames and feel that a good photo will keep the viewers eyes "in the picture".....and although I agree, I often find that they seem to look that much better with a border/frame around them. I guess it's the equivalent to hanging photos on the wall. Just putting it on the wall without a frame "may" look odd...but a nice frame really sets it off.....IMO.

Same as Dave, mainly for web viewing but occasionally print one out.

Same here. I've only started using frames relatively recently, but I do think they add to an image, especially if it's for web use. I generally use frame actions obtained from the Fred Miranda site.

Me too - Frame is for the web. I use a PS action called Mike's invariant frame & text

I have just started looking for actions that create frames.

Where are the best places on the net to get free ones.

Stubbsy -- I have that Mike's invariant one and it is good 8)

Any others out there people recommend?

Irrespective of the attitude towards frames and borders what I do think is a delight is that moderators and posters on DSLRUsers take note of what is said .... and act upon it.

My vote is in. But please keep in mind it is only MY vote and makes no comment on the votes and preferences of others.

Cheers,

I don't like frames ...

And I don't usually vote in these sorts of polls, although I often comment upon the content.
