Lightning sensor?

I did have a cool lightning sensor for my F4 nikon.

It was a flash slave unit wired into a torch reflector and then connected to the cable release plug.

When the lightning flash went off the slave fired the shutter.

Unfortunately it does not seem to work on the D70 does anyone have any ideas on how you could wire up such a thing for a D70 or D70s?

cheers doug

You'll probably have more luck with the D70S as the D70 only has IR triggering of the shutter. The D70S on the other hand does have the option of a cable release.

Given the cost of the cable release I don't feel like hacking one apart on the off chance I can get it to work.

From what I have seen of it already my thoughts are that you might be better waiting for the D200 to work this. It seems to have a better remote control plug interface and I think that if you were clever about it you could fit a couple of small pins into the right points and use your lightning trigger without the expense of buying a dedicated cord to modify. Just a thought!
