How Old Are We?The group appears to have all ages, an excellent state of affairs to keep things interesting and to achieve different views.
But, given:- 1. I love a poll, and 2. I enjoy statistics (yeah, I know, nerd), and 3. It might be interesting I have come up with the fabulous anonymous age poll....... Greg - - - - D200 etc

To all,
I have just increased the average age. (DOB more like creation, I was found under a rock on 30/03/1952. I just like to be different!) Cheers, fozzie

One has to be mighty quick voting in these polls Lots of discussion takes place before one has a chance to vote. I'm going to sit here and watch this forum like a hawk. Don't want to miss the next poll at all. Too many people are having way too much fun! Cheers Graham
This poll hasn't closed Graham......... this ain't Florida
After 16 votes, the average (mean) age is 37 ish (using some rough rounding within the age groupings) Greg - - - - D200 etc

A little higerFozzie,
Got you by a year 09/30/1951. Thats in backwards US notation We in the US think every thing should be our way but jezz The only other people to my knowledge that know what a mile is are the English and ours are not even the same. I will not even get into pints (except for beer) quarts gallons inches, feet and yards or who we just re-elected thr prez
Re: A little higer
56 million people can't be wrong, eh ? When I lived in Modesto I took great delight in edjakating the locals ... people would comment that they loved my accent, and where was I from. I would answer "Hong Kong", and they would accept my answer as gospel. After all, why would I want to mislead them? Modesto voted for Dubya too ... No wonder Ernest and Julio set up shop there. g.

goodrich62,
You have made my day, I thought I would be the only one to own up to my birth date, 52 years old, but young in mind. How's the Budweiser going, the Cooper's Pale Ale will be going great after work tonight. Weather is fine and hot today in Adelaide, 37 Deg. Celsius not Fahrenheit. Just been out to lunch, had a few glasses of wines, and not a problem in the world. Have a good Thanksgiving holiday. Cheers, fozzie

Well I think I should be known as a senior member from now on as I am the only one in the 55-60 group - oh shit

I must admit as to being envious of you youngsters - you have the rest of your lives to enjoy digital photography and the advances to be made in the future.
When I started photography one yearned over Leicas and Exa but had to make do with box brownies. Have a great time with your D70s and know that there is a lot more to come C Chris

Re: A little higer
Don't worry goodrich, there are plenty of Australians (me included, March 1953 was my DOB) who still think, with people in particular, height in feet and inches and weight in stone and pounds. That date thing is a pain in the butt however, particularly for the first twelve days of each month. I won't hold dubbya against you if you don't blame me for howard Greg - - - - D200 etc

31 going on 32 in December,
If only the bank would get there s##t to geather, the wife has approved the purchase. But the bank seems to be in no hurry with the cash. Then off the Birddog and hopefully here before me birthday. MATT
C degrees vs F degreesFozzie,
The Buds fine but truth to tell if I want a cold one, another barbaric custom, I usually go for a Fosters or Bass. I did not want to get into the C vs F thing that goes beyound reason and enter the world Steven Hawking or the best SF writers I mean 0 and 100 vs 32 and 212 It did let me win more than a few pints in school. It was a long time ago but the Number -41 or -42 I forget but it's when the 5/9 and the 9/5 thing crosses over and they come out the same Silly but as a hungery, read that thristy, student you learn how to win stupid bar bets . The best $ winner was always: I can drink 6 beers before you can drink 1 shot the only rules are I get a 1 beer start and you can't touch my glasses I can't touch your's. That one got me more free 6 beers then I can remember . Please forgive my spelling not an English major and was to busy trying to figure out how 12 of one thing made 1 of another and that 3 of those make some thing eles. Adding 0's is much easier Goodrich
Goodrich,
Perhaps I need a beer to get the brain lub'ed but I don't get the 6 beers/1 shot trick. How does it work? Cheers Dean I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

Me...well I'm 28 (turned in September)... got my first digital camera in about 2000 I think, maybe 1999..how times have changed, it was the Sony (I know there are a lot of anti-sony ppl out there) but it was a 3.2mp camera, and for those days it was a fine, fine camera, still takes decent shots. If ever I'm out on the town or don't want to risk Cameron to bad things (i.e me with alcohol) my trust sony comes with me. When I bought it all those years ago, it cost me around $1600 - ouch! Have a great week end everyone!!
Geoff.
Since I'm a good boy now I will not charge for the answer.
A beer mug is bigger than a shot glass when you finish your head start beer turn your mug over the shot glass, remember he can't touch your glass you can take all night finishing your beers he can never get to his shot glass because it is under your beer glass. It's nasty but being 6'5'' and 250 lbs. not going to try to convert, makes getting a punch in the nose less likely when they they catch the trick. Again I was thristy Goodrich
I'm good, but I'm struggling with this one two. er, too. g.

Kristine, It's an incident, I was shot down late that day in an Air support mission in the VN War, bailed out that day and was captured as POW, until 1976. I had Xmas in the re-education camp, playing around with mozzie, cockroach, rats, underground and listened to the sound of artillery and bomb as Xmas song 25 June 51 is my birthday, Next June is time for my 300/2.8 VR with no excuses. That is really sad to hear
Mmmm...that would be a nice present
Lets keep this on the QTGreg and Deano,
Lets not make the solution too public. I don't want a law suite and my daughter is going to JCU in Queensland next year on an exchange porgram in Marine Biology After paying for that and saving my pennies I thought I could visit and get a few free beers before running into a few large rugby blokes. If the 6 to 1 and the -41 are common knowledge I will have to bring out the heavy artillary then your pub's will never be safe. If I have to do the swizzle stick in a figure 8 with my tounge I feel all will be lost
Birddog,
That story blows me away. Wow! Cheers Dean I intend to live forever. So far, so good.

I'm 18 and if Belle and Nexxus haven't had their birthdays within the last month, I'll claim the title of youngest D70 user
Briddog,
Thanks will take you up on that. I was also in during that time but was lucky enough to be "Blur Water" Navy and never got closer then the Med. so I only claim the "Era" vet status. Rich
goodrich62 I had an opportunity on the Enterprise in 1971 as ALO (Air Liason Officer) for the VNAF few months and worked with the NGF (Navy Gun Fire) as well. Birddog114

And I used to feel sorry for myself. I spent Christmas in the middle of the GULF OF MEXICO on a drilling rig with a bunch of southern boys who hated me (well some of them did) eating deep fried catfish. Before work I called home and my nieces and nephews were there squeeling and having fun. My siblings were there singing to me, and I was 10 minutes away from hell. I hung up the phone and wanted to swim 250 miles to shore. I used to say this story with a smug, thinking no one has ever had a Christmas quite this bad. I'm truly humbled by your story Birdie, and I appreciate you sharing. I now have a new appreciation for those serving their country; you're thrice the man I am. I was one year old in your Christmas of 1976 as a POW, born Jan 22, 1975. It's been a pleasure making all of your acquaintance. Makes me and Kristine about a month apart.
