After my problems with my D70, I got a call from my local Apple suppler, Computerland at Southport, to let me know that my REPLACEMENT COMPUTER HAD ARRIVED, been waiting for 4 1/2 weeks, I was off like a rocket to pick up my new toy, as the old iMac has been in and out of repairs for 4 months and I have been working on my 12inch Powerbook since mid June.

I was quite surprised, as my new computer is the new G5 iMac with the built in iSight, remote, mighty mouse and other tricks, it will be a long night, as I am now loading up all my software as new installs, and profiling the screen with is so much better than the old imac..........

Good news BP. I have heard that Apple are better than PC for graphics and the like.

My 19" monitor is on the way though so that should keep me going :D

When my Mum had recurring problems with here iBook for a similar period, in and out service etc, they replaced just about everything and never quite fixed it but flatly refused to replace it because it was against policy. Reasoning was it made them look bad to have problems that can't be fixed. Seems stupid to me as you look much worse stubbornly trying to fix a computer for months, costing more than the replacement, and seriously pissing off the customer. Mum ended up just buying a new unit and relegating the old one to light non critical duties.

Glad to see you got some satisfaction BP. I think Apple make some nice machines, but a few things really tick me off about them.
