Well,
I hate to rub it in but today was FANTASTIC! I think there were 10 of us at peak and the day started at 0930hrs and I just got home (1840hrs). It was great to meet Cameraguy and Tarotastic and also share some fun shots with the gang at the QVB, the city, Martin Place for the memorial for Rememberance Day, down to the Quay to the place where the very first D70users meet was held for lunch - City Extra...on to the Manly Ferry, off at Manly for a walkabout..back onto the ferry to the Rocks...up to the harbour bridge, some up the South Pylon..then back down to the Orient Beer Garden for a pint!! Brilliant day people...MANY photos to come I would expect. Not too hot, no clouds and a lovely breeze...the flies weren't TOO bad either!! :)

Here Here! It was a great day, fantastic weather, great company and plenty of cool shots to be had. I felt the phrase "safety in numbers" also applies, being in a group I was confident enough to take some candids... uploading now so hopefully there are some good ones.

Thanks to Peter for organising it and everyone who came along, and great to meet more of the forum folk.

Thanks again Peter for orginizing today, anyone going to the Hunter Valley for Peter's weekend will be well looked after! :D
I'm now downloading my images from today, It could be a long night!
Will post as soon as something catches the eye

I'm so annoyed that I couldn't make it today... I had to work...

With the benefit of hindsight, I probably could have come along as my main customer wasn't even in the office to see me there

Maybe next time...

Someone upload some photos for goodness sake...

Yep It was a fantastic day with great company. I filled two 2gb cards plus another 50 or so on a 1Gb. Have to wait a while to PP (I'm at birdy's), but I should have a keeper or two in there.

Thanks, in order of appearance, to Matt, Paul, Geoff, Mike (our US visitor), Lyn, Craig, Leigh, Chi and Taro for their great company. We only got pulled up by one security guy and that was at QVB because Mike had a tripod which isn't allowed. The VERY courteous security man made a point of saying we could take as many pics as we liked, just no tripod.

Did I mention it was a great day    8)

Paul got asked about his 70-200VR on the Harbour Bridge, he even showed the security dude how good it was..hahaha..Apparently he told Paul not to take excessive photos of the bridge as 'they don't like it' but the security guard went on to say something like 'i don't care but they don't like it' :D

Thank you to everyone who came along and made the event great (and God in control of the weather made it a no less than perfect for us!). It was a great time for socialising, shooting and drinking. The Remembrance Day memorial was quite something. I noticed during the minute's silence the cars on the roads even stopped in respect. Apart from the few arrogant fucks at the end that blasted their horns...

I would have suggested we agregated our images into one thread, but it seems they're already spread out all over the place... so I'll post mine in due time (girls with piercings are hawt - I shall illustrate).

We should have shoot meets like this more often, and I encourage other cities/states to gather together for shoots too. Alpha_7 mentioned the 'safety in numbers' issue - I certainly felt less inhibition to shoot candids in the company of others.
