Free Warranty Service

Hi all,

My D70 is approaching it's 1 year anniversary since I bought it. It performs beautifully and I have never had even a slightest problem with it. I bought it with Maxwell warranty and was wondering if it's worth (or if any one has done) doing a free warranty service. CCD cleaning is not really of concern as I do it myself either dry clean or wet clean, but I wonder more about my viewfinder/ mirror (there are some dirt spots in the viewfinder) and also calibration of focus, etc. I am in Melbourne so would use Camera Clinic. Do you guys recommend doing this service?

Thanks for any suggestions
Alex

Thanks, Chris. I am of the same opinion as you are. I heard too many stories of camera going for repair and coming back fixed plus a new problem or worth than before service altogether. I don't mean to offend camera clinic, I've heard very positive reports about them, but if it aint broke, don't fix it :-). Specs in the viewfinder are a bit annoying, but since they don't affect the photos, who cares.

i usually bring my stuff into camera clinic, althought they do have good turnaround time. they did have problems upgrading a p-chip for my manual lenses, but thats fixed now. I don't think you want to go without a camera for 3-4 weeks if its not broken. unless you have a backup of course.

Thanks Redline. Yes, I was wondering how long it would take too.
