That sucks!!!

But if your now in the mood to see a bright side... at least your camera gear didn't get damaged as well. with your up coming shoots, that would have been worse!

I'm sorry for your loss but really it's only metal.
I have one mate with a damaged spine and another mate who has just been diagnosed with a degenerative eye condition which will render him blind within 10 years.

Sorry to hear about your crash matey...this is terrible but as Thaddeus has said, hearing stories like his mate and the other one with the diagnosis of being blind in 10 years helps put unfortunate (and often annoying) incidents like this in perspective. The fact that you were able to come home and tell us about it (in a weird kinda way) is a blessing. You're not injured. Metal can be repaired/replaced. Lost limbs and brain/spine damage can't. Hope you're back on the road asap!

Thai,

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, but as others have pointed put, it's you that's important.

I had a similar incident several years ago, coming home late one night from a jam session, and had a truck collect the GTV when he decided he wanted to be in the lane that I was occupying at the time. He spun the GTV around at right angles to the direction I was originally travelling, and I was then treated to the sight of the truck's bull bar as he pushed me along Parramatta Road for about another 50 meters before he finally stopped.

Police were just up the road running a speed trap, and they were at the scene almost, it seemed, before my car had come to a halt. The comment of the officer was that he was expecting to scrape me out of the car, but like your's the damage inflicted was to only the driver's side of the vehicle.

30+ year's old, $12500 damage, and the car was definitely worth repairing.

But importantly, not only was I able to drive the car home, I was able to walk away from the accident. Very shaken, and no doubt you are now too.

But do consider how fortunate you truly are ....
