Good

- Earning money to buy camera gear, satisfy lustings
- In Sydney for the week, being able to spend a very enjoyable evening with Birddog, the lovely Mrs Birddog, and Gary

Bad

- Get home Friday night, log on and realise that voting for the B&W challenge has opened and closed while I was away

As they say in the classics,'sh.t happens'.

Good to see you had an enjoyable time in Sydney with Mr/Mrs Birddog and Gary. One day I am going to make the journey.

Cheers,

I heard on the grapevine you may have purchesed an item or 2? Can't control your lustful little self eh?

Oh, and I picked up my SB800 today. The manual is gobbledegook to me. Needs to be rewritten by someone who can communicate with humans.

Yes Matt, and Birddog was trying to tempt me further!

I picked up my SB800 on Thursday. Today, it was battery purchase time.

After a cursory look at the manual, I stuck that sucker on the D70 and took some shots. The absence of a link to the results may lead you to certain conclusions about such a cavalier approach to a complex bit of kit - however the fact is, the results were surprisingly good (in terms of the SB800's performance). They were just boring, and I can't blame the SB800 or the manual for that. Unfortunately. :)

It looks like a fantastic thing, can't wait to learn more about it.

Right on about that manual. All that I got out of it was a guide to functions and setup of the SB800. Other than that it was useless. I worked out how to use the thing pretty much on my own. Not really that hard. The rest is technique.

Have a look here for technique - http://www.dg28.com/technique.html

Cheers
