Saw this somewhere - I have no idea as to efficacy....

Photoshop CS3 details emerge, two new Adobe apps set for release

Just months after the release of Adobe Photoshop CS2, Think Secret has obtained several notes regarding Photoshop CS3, as well as word that Adobe may be developing two other yet unannounced products: Adobe Acrobat 3D and Adobe Full Frame.

Adobe is exploring offering two versions of Photoshop CS3, a Standard version and a Premium version. According to one plan under consideration, some principle new features, such as Camera Raw 4, would be available to both versions, while other functionality, such as Vanishing Point 2, would be available with more advanced options in the Premium version. Still other features, such as rotoscoping that was introduced in CS2, would be moved exclusively to the Premium package.

I wouldn't be suprised if the the future CS3 suite has Dreamweaver & Flash in there as well.

Adobe just finalised acquiring Macromedia.

Hopefully Adobe will split up their CS3 suites into web & image, the suite is expensive as it is, couldn't imagine how much it would be if the whole lot is bundled together.

I heard the rumour that Dreamweaver wasn't being developed anymore, and Adobe would just be shipping GoLive or whatever it's called instead...shame - Dreamweaver is probably one of the best remaining Macromedia apps, and I find GoLive to be pretty horrible!

I'd highly doubt that GoLive would replace Dreamweaver. More like the opposite. GoLive is crap compared to Dreamweaver and everyone and their monkey knows it.

That said, I'm not surprised at this.

They're probably going to look at combining Fireworks with ImageReady and Photoshop, as well as having more Flash based power within Illustrator and Photoshop for easy crossover into Flash, seeing as SVG was such a failure.

Where's the Rotoscoping in Photoshop? I know it's in Illustrator from their past Sreamline product, which actually seems better than the implementation in Illustrator, but where is it in Photoshop?

Leigh. The idea of Streamline was to convert bitmap images to vector images. Since PS is a bitmap oriented program that wouldn't make sense. Surely you'd build that functionality into Illustrator which is a vector program?

Well, Streamline has been pulled off of the market for quite a while now and they just recently re-integrated the technology in Illustrator CS2.

However, that quote from above implies that rotoscoping is in Photoshop CS2 since Illustrator isn't listed in the said article.
