That's a good read, on my quest for knowledge.
Nothing ells to do on this wet non work day, mite have to try a bit more still life stuff for something to do!!!!!!

I would like to see 85/1.4 28/1.4 and 70-200VR pitted against each other..
IMHO this is the way you should test the Boke of the lens as it gives the best quantitative test..

Posted: Thu Dec 09, 2004 10:01 amThe kit lens fares well in that company, and consistent with my own observations. No doubt helped by the fact that it's a little to a lot slower than the other primes in the comparison.
The 70-200 and 85/1.4 comparison, if tested in the same way, I would predict the difference to be neligible. They're both very good and creamy smooth from what I've seen with Birddog's samples - perhaps in real world use the edge goes to 70-200 due to available longer focal length.
