how to sell a digital camera?Im trying to sell my Konica Minolta Dimage a2 so i can buy a D70 at Birddogs incredibly low santa's coming prices!
I already have posted it on the tradingpost - internet ad only, but id want to sell it faster so ill have to increase exposure - more ads... any suggestions? i have setup a lil webpage to accompany my ads - http://www.jdear.com/a2 please help me in my quest for a d70! JD
I sold my Canon S50 on eBay for $595.00 buy it now - no problem plus I sold my Nikon D1, SB28DX, 35-105 Nikkor plus heaps of other stuff with no problems at all - being the seller puts you in the driving seat and you wait until the money is in your account before sending the goods.
The other good point about selling on eBay is that you have a result in a specified time. Cheers Chris Chris

I have also sold two digicams, a film cam and a bunch of other stuff on eBay with no problems.
The only problem I ever had was on a purchase where I didn't check the cost of shipping before I bid but that was all my own dumb fault. Cheers Dean I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
D2x | Nikkor 24-120vr & 50/1.8 | Sigma 12-24 & 24-70/2.8 & 70-200/2.8 | SB800 | Velbon 640CF Tripod w/ Markins M10 & RRS plates. And then there's my Bag Collection... Sweeet....;-)
yeah i had considered ebay, but i had a look at the same camera on there, minus the case and battery pack im offering with it... and they are around $1100... cant compete with that, better going to more private markets i think.
JD know of any good photographic classifieds?
You have to consider how long you have had the camera and the depreciation. My Canon S50 was bought for $1250.0 and sold as noted above. The time differential between buying and selling was only 6 months and they had depreciated considerably in that time due to new models etc. Get what you can for it as quickly as possible as they are constantly going down in price - and remember that eBay is now the prime place to advertise with 2.5 million hits a month. Cheers Chris Chris
