Looking for tripod with clips

I am in the hunt for a new pair of legs. I did some searching around this forum and also on the www.

I want something that is light but strong enough for my D200+70-200VR. Also it must have clips, as I prefer using clips.

As for heads, I will be putting a quick release pistol/hand grip on it.

Any sugguestions?

TIA
Vince

If you really want one of those grips then I can thoroughly recommend the Manfrotto 322R. It is a very nice secure head and will handle the weight of the camera and lens that you mention. I have one which now resides on my monopod.

Shutterbug,

The thread on tripods from yesterday might be useful:

Thanks guys  I did see that thread. Had a look at the Manfrotto 055PRO, looks great but heavy. Is there anything light with clips?

Manfrotto 190 series is the next down from that - lighter and lighter loads.

Alternatively, try the 055MF3 (Mag Fibre 3 section)... but that goes up to the $600+ range
