Sigma Lens Compatibility with D1x
Posted: Fri Jan 27, 2006 9:58 pmI have two D1x bodies and two D70 bodies that all can use the same lenses . . . so far. I tried a Sigma EX series 50mm macro on a D1x yesterday and it would close focus but not focus normally for distant subjects. On a D70 it works flawlessly. All my other Sigma EX series lenses (20mm, 28mm, 24-60, 150 macro, 70-200) work fine on all my bodies so this is very disappointing. Anyone had a similar experience.
I have not yet called Sigma but plan to today.
This syndrome (?) does not seem to be unique to third party lenses either. I noticed some time ago that some AF Nikkor 180/2.8 lenses will not autofocus on a D70 but will on every other AF body I try. Mine works fine with a D70 but not all do, so be careful, if you're in the market for a 180.
