Flexible Program in P Mode confusion

Guys,

Still trekking the D70 learning cliff. After viewing the awesome images from forum members, I didnt dare put mine. I am trying though.

In the P Mode (Auto multi porgram) the manual says p77, under Flexible Program -- different combinations of shutter spped/aperture can be selected by using Main Command Dial. When I roate the dial, I see the icon they mentioned but still shows the same spped/aperture in control panel. Am I missing something ?

oh and I haven't swapped the functions of main and sub command dials in other menu. Also I ahve not set the command dial to alter the exp comp.

cheers,
ajax

You need to press the shutter button down 1/2 way so that the camera can take a reading. Then if you rotate the dial you will get the alternative values. If the meter turns itself off after awhile you may need to repeat this.

Please, please, please post your pics.

It is through critique by your peers that you can improve your technique.

I have seen a remarkable improvement in the skills of most of the forum members (myself included) since this forum started and it's due to learning frmo the mistakes of oneself and others.

There is a wealth of helpful people and web resources out there (and in here) to help make your D70 experience pleasureable.

So please, don't be shy. We would never say something is crap even when it is, but instead we will suggest ways to improve. That's what we are all about.

Yes please post your photos. As a budding amatuer I have found some of the advise and help on here invaluable. Plus I really like to look at other peoples photos as it gives me idea's (and aspirations) and inevitably mistakes they might make I'll probably make as well and it helps.

Never be afraid to post up a photo, specially if you already think they aren't worthy some small constructive criticism won't hurt will it, more so it will probably help.

Cheers
Brett

G'day Ajax,
Believe me matey, this forum is probably the most amicable and friendly forum I've seen. Just a bunch of people who have fun with their D70's... The best way to develop (excuse the pun) skills is to post and learn from the advice from the members here (there's some knowledgable and experienced dudes here), I've probably put up some shockers but have never received other than constructive and helpful advice and tips.

Go for it, put some stuff up, we all learn from the tips and advice not just the person that submitted the shot... :-)

Cheers,
Mudder
