QE2 Melbourne arrival

For anyone interested the QE 2 should be coming through the heads of Port Philip bay between 12.00 and 1 pm today, she is expected to berth at station pier Port Melbourne at or around 3.30pm, these times are from the Port of Melbourne website which is usually reliable,??? for those wanting to see her berth at port melbourne , the pier will be closed but it can be viewed from the small pier adjacent to the main one or from beacon cove,or the beach further west of the pier,and the sun will be in the west illuminating the subject nicely (if out !) also it will be very busy and parking will be hard to find so get there as early as possible or park as far west as you are prepared to walk !!, i intend to get a pic of her entering the bay from Point Lonsdale then hi tailing it to station pier to see her berthing (i hope)

She is not as large as the most modern of liners but is a classic ship in the older tradition and is worth seeing in her lovely Cunard colours of black, white, and red
