Postby rookie2 on Fri Mar 10, 2006 12:28 pm

anyone familiar with the whereabouts of forum member Kris. :?:

I recently purchsed a great SB 800 from him. all systems working fine - its just that he left out the extra battery holder, stand and charger cord.
I've sent a series of PMs without response.

if anyone happens to know if he has already headed OS I'd be glad to hear from you via PM.

He may well be on assignment somewhere

- not a biggie as I can pick these up somewhere I'm sure without breaking the bank. jsut want to tidy this up ASAP

thanx

LOZ
no problems with his PMs during the sale and immediately after - just this last week which suggest he may be off somewhere.
thanx

rookie2,
Perhaps that why he sold it to you at a cheaper price!
Hope this not a case! and I have a feeling he wanted to get out of photography.

He's also a member over at OCAU as s8n, might be able to PM him there, or use his ICQ/AIM info: ICQ 67016590, AIM s8noz

you might be right birddog fortunately it was only the small things missing. so far the unit is working A1 so for $410 I'm still very happy (also came with 8 proink RC batts) & charge unit (not cord tho!!)

I think Kris is cutting down on his photog. gear to lighten his load for an overseas trip soon.

if anyone happens to make contact just let him know.

thanks for suggestions - I will follow up

cheers

do you think the battery chamber would be available (and cheaper) in Kuala Lumpar - I'm heading that way in April so hope to pick up some bits n pieces there.

I was also hoping Kris might emerge in time to pass on the gear to Fozzie while he is in your part of the country this W/e.

thanks anyway

Rookie2,
Kuala Lumpur? maybe for the big item, not the small and unusual piece as the batterry cell for the SB800, but really don't know, you may lucky find it.
Finding Kris this weekend? I doubt it will happens, if he's still around Sydney, he's a thousand miles from us
Did you ask him about all these missing items before the sale? he may lost or misplaced them somewhere, the stand for it, still costs you some bucks also.

Rookie, I assume you have his surname, he lives in Mount St, North Sydney. Look it up in the White Pages. As Birddy mentioned, you should be able to pick up the missing items for about $100, so you are no worse off than a new one and have extra batteries (or is this the one he posted about dropping in the water whilst sailing? Check his posts  ). If he is away and has left the items with flatmates I can pick them up as I am close.

He also has a website, try that. He doesn't seem the sort of guy who would purposely forget to send something, must be an accident.
