I've been looking around for a PSD and have come across the Vosonic VP2160 X-Drive II+. Have scoured the web and can't find much about it. Does anyone here have any experience with it? Seems pretty good value for $115+HDD

Any other recommendations for PSDs? I know about the CompactDrive but would prefer not to get it due to the voltage issue. Not sure i'd want to trust it with my images. Also prefer a cheaper option which would rule out those with preview screens.

I've had an XS-Drive II for about a year, and was quite happy with it up until my impatience caught up with me. With a 256MB XD card it took about 5min to copy to disk. When I graduated to the D70 with the CF cards I went to a 1GB version, which takes about 15min to copy to disk and seems a lot longer. Your impatience threshold may be better than mine though. :)

This is it: http://www.xs-drive.com/xsdrive2/

The thing works fine, and is dead simple. One button turns it on, the other starts the copy. It beeps when it's done, and you turn it off. A battery charge (internal Li-ion) lasts about an hour and a half, which will let you copy about 6GB of files per charge.

I took it on hols last year and dumped about 1.5GB of data onto it, which was about 1500 photos and a few movies. No, not the D70... :)

I'm pretty happy with it, no argument that it works. If the CompactDrive had been around I would bought it instead though, purely for the speed. If you don't care about the speed or don't like the voltage prob, I know someone with an XS-Drive going cheap! :)
