Shooting the breeze.Sorry, I haven't posted on here in a while, life's been crazy. What do you guys do when you feel in a rut. I feel like I haven't shot much good in a while, was wondering if this struck others every now and then. I really want some new pics to test the new printer out, had a go on some old photos, but feel like I'm almost unable to shoot anything good at the moment.
Photographers block............ a quick fix is to buy a new lens and it all happens again........
Cheers ....bp....
Difference between a good street photographer and a great street photographer.... Removing objects that do not belong... happy for the comments, but .....Please DO NOT edit my image..... http://bigpix.smugmug.com Forever changing
I get that and writers' block quite often.
I haven't found a solid cure yet, although for writers' block I find music helps a great deal and for photographers' block, I go for a walk with my camera strapped to my wrist. Neither always help or are guaranteed to help, but they sometimes to the job. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au

Best thing to do is just to force yourself to shoot anything get out there
you will be surprised what you bring back when i started out i got block but i just decided to shoot with a consistent theme, like documenting every garbage bin in Sydney - for it's artistic merits then i moved on to photographing peoples expresions as they went up a escalator - priceless stuff
Hop in a car drive to any destination with your camera and that will fix.

As long as you aren't relying on it for a living, I say just let it pass. No point in trying to force something INO. I'll go for a little while without taking any photos, and feel just fine with it. Then suddenly I get this insatiable urge to grab photos, or revisit a certain place.
I'd have to say that the purchase of my sigma 10-20 has helped stall any photographer's block though. The great glass sharpness and capabilities make photography never-evending amounts of fun.
