Went and saw the photographic portrait exhibition at the NSW

Postby Matt. K on Sun Mar 26, 2006 8:27 pm

Went and saw the above exhibition which is held in conjunction with the Archibald Prize every year. It was not as good as previous years in my opinion but there were still 7 or 8 outstanding works on the wall. I was very disappointed with some of the works that were put in by some of the better known names around. They just did not cut the mustard and I think Many of the forum members have the skill and vision to outdo some of these pretenders. Perhaps next year we might run a pre exhibition of our own here on the forum and then encourage the winners to enter their works in the NSW gallerry exhibition. Just a thought.

Matt I agree with you 110%.

It seems if you are a known photographer you are allowed to submit crap and get away with it, All the would- bes if could- bes that were their today were expressing to each other in very loud voices so that every one with in 10 meters could hear how great the crap is .The wankers there today would have been 10 to 1 .
This years quality of the Archibald Prize gives me hope once again.
 I would give 1st place to the photo of Chopper Reed .
and the quality of the art in Art Express was outstanding . LOZ
