How to create 360 degree panoramas

Hello,

I came across this site below that showcases some beautiful panoramas and was wondering how to create such cubic panoramas. What equipment (tripod) and software would be required? I have been able to create simple stitched left-right panoramas using Panorama Tools but not cubic.

The site states that the panorama below used 50 images. In what order were these images taken ?

Thanks.

360 degree pano can be achieved with the following pano head and pano equipments:

From:
http://www.reallyrightstuff.com/pano/index.html

Ultimate-Pro Omni-Pivot Package

Or one of the Manfrotto pano head.

+ tripod or ball head, depend on what kind of gears are in your possession.

Next is software, I think Glamy posted this software on this forum before.

There are quiet a few softwares around. I have "Stitcher" from Realviz and also PTGui. Both are good. I use a Manfrotto 303 SPH head.

Hey Kamran,

Here is a rough one I posted a couple months ago...

I followed instructions using the tutorial here...

You have to pay for PTgui but the rest of the software is free.

It is actually an awefull lot of work to make a 360° pano, especially when it is done with a fisheye.

There is one piece of software that is really promising but it currently only supports 2 image panos and they have been saying a multi image version will be out 'soon' for the last year now. http://www.stitch-fisheye.com/

Petal666,
With the 10.5 Ionly have to take 6 horizontal pictures +1 top and 1 bottom, and PTGui or Stitcher does the rest... after some defishing. In 10 minutes you get you virtual tour (if that). By the way, I do not know how to post Quick Time movies. If any one can help that'd be good.
Cheers,
Gerard

My method involved leaving them as a fish and worked very well, just took a long time.
