D2x Sensor

Postby Oneputt on Sun Apr 02, 2006 7:25 am

I am posting this image not because it is any good but to demonstrate the amazing sensor on the D2x. I shot this directly in to the sun and it has not ben PP'ed. Detail in the foreground and no blown highlights...amazing.

I am not talking to you after your complicity in the April 1st Joke. Here I was seriously worrying about the future of the forum.

What lens did you use, I also find it interesting that I can only see a minor flare (flair?) in the pic.
Does the name Pavlov ring a bell?

The lens was a Sigma 10-20mm. 1/320s at f8. No CPL.

Yes but a true example would be a 100% crop ... say down around the lower left, in around the rocks ... to check for shadow detail, of course

Canon 20D and a bunch of lovely L glass and a 580EX. Benro tripod. Manfrotto monopod. Lowepro and Crumpler bags. And a pair of Sigma teleconverters, and some Kenko tubes.
