Sensor Brush in Newcastle?

I have just attempted to blow some loose dust from my sensor that resulted in my tiny little spot being 15-20 spots. I have a jumbo blower so its not a lack of air either. After calling all local shops no-one in Newcastle seems to have a brush or swab kit. I can get a brush from the states but It's not going to get here before my next gig this Friday. Any locals know of anywhere around that I may be able to purchase a sensor brush or something similar?

Cheers..................Brad

In view of your time frame, suggest you ring even now to see whether they can get the product to you before Friday. Then order online.

Brad,

What sort of brush are you thinking of using on your sensor? As a general rule, this is a bad idea, and it may leave hairs or oil on the sensor.

What sort of blower are you using? A Giotto? That's what we recommend.

Apart from that, use our search function and check some of the older threads on sensor cleaning.

We may be able to get some methanol to you for a wet clean, if you have some swabs and the appropriate tissues for this.

Cheers fozzie. Request sent to them the second you posted it. much appreciated

As for the brush, I'm talking a specific sensor sweep. I have asked about getting a complete kit instead of the brush alone. I am always super careful with my lense changes so I never ever get sensor spots. I have had 1 occasion on each the 20D and the 1DMKIIn where I sent it to Canon and had them clean it. So no I have no wipes or swab sticks. I do have alot of friends in the business that I am just about to contact to see if they have a kit themselves.

Big thanks for the instant response people  Brad

Doesn't matter how careful you are, just zooming a lens in and out can introduce dust onto the sensor.

Brad

I have pec pads, sensor wipes and fluid. I've never used them since I've never needed to do a wet clean, but you're more than welcome to borrow some - and I'm in North Lambton 8)

cheers,

AndrĂ© PS: got mine from Quality Cameras, usually very quick service.

Thanks again everyone for the help
I have a kit paid for and on its way from quality cameras as of first thing this morning (rang him and organized it all last night). I was hoping to get my Sydney Easter Show stuff done over this Friday and the following instead of just the one day. I may just have to make it a Sat and the following Friday as the kit wont make it here till this Friday (hopefully)

Thanks for the offer Radar and Stubbsy although being its the 1DMKIIn I wanted to get the actual swab size made for the sensor (16mm) just incase it happened to leave a streak from only wipeing across 2/3 the surface like those pesky widnscreen cleaning streaks you get ;) If I ever meet you guys though I may have to take you up on that offer to do my 20d as it has 2 small light spots that even Canon couldn't remove. Maybe a wet clean would fix it? Not a big problem atm as its more a back up body now.

I'm in Belmont Radar, so just for the record, you would have been closer.

Thanks again
