New LensPlaying with my new Sigma 180mm Macro. I think it is very sharp.

Sounds like a great piece of kit, what speed is it.
I just love compressed DoF shots with the background off focus, took some great pics of me and the wife in Cheddar Gorge, now framed in my hallway. Last edited by nikon.d70s on Mon Apr 03, 2006 10:11 pm, edited 1 time in total.

Cheddar Gorge is not bad for a small weekend break, not on the same scale as more exotic locations but I liked it....

if the sigma 180 is anything like the sigma 150 i have, i definately think it'll be super sharp.
These sigma macro lenses are great value i think, actually a lot of sigma lenses are great value.
Oneputt - Congratulations on your new lens. Looks very sharp to me. Building up a Sigma arsenal (10-20, 180 macro: what is next ) Now if you had started drinking from the bottle in view, I might suggest by the end of the night, another shot not as sharp

When people ask what equipment I use - I tell them my eyes.
Congrats Oneputt Very nice and tack sharp as well!
Hassy, Leica, Nikon, iPhone
Come follow the rabbit hole...
Looks like a 70-200 f2.8 is needed Or the 30 f1.4
imported it should cost somewhere between 900-1000 (including shipping and import fees) as its roughly the same price as the sigma 150mm, locally it'll probably be 1600+ (rough estimate though)
Always happy to see Sigma users proving that they make a first class lens system
Nice proof Oneputt - ouch! Chris

That's a great piece of glass.
