Perhaps one of this will do the job well, it's 105mm.

I played with several versions of it in the war.

That site wrote:Surely and ad that would never run in America but, apparently, the rest of the world has dispensed with this thing called political correctness.

Well, "political correctness" is a kind of self-sensorship. I will now un-sensor myself and say that I find the ad in pretty bad taste.

Cheers

An interesting photo.

1. Looks like you would need a lot more than 10 x optical zoom to achieve what the photo claims

2. Geez, wouldn't you need a super-active VR system for that, especially if it's a machine gun...

3. Saving the best for last, couldn't you get some great "action shots"...

Now, what was that about "political correctness"?

The trigger on the gun will do the job and more efficiently. No doubt.

Regardless of poor taste, technical feasibility or anything else, you all now have to admit that it is a successful ad.

It has had a link to it posted on a photography forum and everyone who has clicked on it knows of the existence of that camera and possibly even that it's a nikon.

Extremely cheap perfectly targetted advertising.
People put way too much rubbish in signature blocks.

That doesn't necessarily mean the ad was successful. How many people have looked at it, cancelled their Coolpix orders and went for the Powershot instead? I know I would have felt like it.
