Some of my work in city stores

Postby darb on Wed Apr 12, 2006 3:39 pm

hiyas,

Just a bit of good news ... some of my prints (about 30 all up) have gone into two stores ... one in the Carillion Arcade in the CBD (an australiana shop) and the other into a surf store in Scarborough (for that store ive chosen mainly beachy scenes.)

It's only on consignment, so hopefully I'll sell some ... otherwise Ive just outlayed a fair bit of $$ to put up on my walls !

I had them done in differing sizes ... namely 12 x 4 inch, 24 x 8 inch, and 12 x 8 inch ... matted (signed in pencil) and then sealed into a protective bag ... so customers can peruse through images without dirtying the product etc. Also gives it a bit more of a professional feel anyway.

Some examples are visible at the "sales" section of : http://davidsonimagery.com/

Anyways, here's hoping ... I think ill have to sell a million before I make any money back, but its not really about that :)

Some great material there, Brad. Covers a wide range of viewer tastes too.

I really wish you all the best with it. :)

hey there,

they cost me ;

Matte Print
12 x 4 -$12 -$1
12 x 8 -$14 -$6.50
24 x 8 -$22 -$27.50

havent done any 20 x 30's or other sizes yet (except for my own house) ... so not sure what the mattboard etc will cost me there.

matte being the mattboard (mounted / sealed with a backing) ... bags came with the matte's ... made buy a guy i know for me.

Then its just a matter of getting frame to suit ... up to the buyer (no way im venturing into selling framed work just yet, framing has just about as much creative importance as the image itself, but is outside my control, ie, what people want for their house. Plus expensive.

Some nice images there. I really like the waterfalls photos, I didn't realise there were scenes like that around Perth.

Which surf store in Scarbs are they in? Not Cordingley by any chance? Just curious
