SC29 is cool

got a sc-29 remote cord for my flash unit
one clear advantage of using this cord over the sc28 is that sometimes when you hold the flash unit away from the subject in low light the af assist light on th eflash unit misses the subject because your looking through the viewfinder and trying to point the the flash in different directions, it's hard to point it directly at the subject if you can't see what your doing hence the camera cant focus. With the sc29 the af assist light is on the camera hotshoe which is in direct line of sight from above the lens barrel to the subject, where ever you hold the flash even pointing it up in order to bounce the af assist light on the hotshoe assists the camera at focussing on the subject regardless of where the flash unit is pointing.
I have wasted alot of time and opportunities with using the sc28 in this manner
I think it's one of the best accessories i have ever purchased
results are nice too essentially i really don't like the flash on the camera shoe images look flat most of the time you get harsh shadow in the background etc
here is an examples of what you can do with the flash off the hotshoe
the first two the flash is inthe near 10 'o' clock position at the distance i am form the subject
3rd on is more direct but flash but held slighty behind me from the left
holdign the flash can be impractical at times when you just have to get the shot, but if you have time for a shot it's just sweet.
