Just wondering if any of the PS gurus out there had any good teeth whitening techiniques for clients with yellow teeth? Thanks in advance,

You could always feather select and white balance via curves in their mouth.

I usually use the dodge tool, large sized brush and go easy, it's easy to overwhiten.

If you are using PS, create a new layer, set that layer to soft light, and then use the paint brush - pick a colour just off the absolute white set to 20% opacity (or at least that's what I use - depends on you really), and then paint onto this layer - this will then lighten the layer underneath (the teeth in this case) without altering the original image, and without giving you the scary results you sometimes see with the dodge tool. Layers is a much better way to go for burning also :)

Here's a good method:

1. Select the teeth. I use the lasso tool but the pen tool or any other accurate selection method will do. Just be sure not to get any of the gums, tongue etc in the selection;
2. Feather the selection by 1-2 pixels to eliminate any hard line after recolouring;
3. Go to Image, Adjustments and click on Hue/Saturation;
4. Choose "Yellows" from the drop down Edit list and move the Saturation slider to the left to remove the yellowing;
5. Choose "Master" from the Edit list and drag the Lightness slider to the right until you get the level of whitening required;
6. Deselect and the job's done.

Big pearly whites: :D
