105mm DC

Hi guys, i'm really weighing up this lens. I'm looking for something around that range for portraits. Does anyone own one, used one.....

Yes, I have and mainly used it in portrait shooting in the pair with the 85/1.4.
Great glass, it's little long for close portrait, needed to zoom your foot back and forth.

I bought one last fall (US fall) on a whim because the price was so attractive. It has made me forget about the 85/1.4, at least for a while. It is tack sharp and a real cream machine. I don't do portraits so I find it good for close focus work outside (especially with a Canon 500D) and its a nice lanscape lens too.

Thanks birdy. Unfortunately i have a wedding on Saturday, otherwise i would have love to come down and say hi to you all. BTW, what are they worth?

Hah! Me too!

It'd be too weird if it was the same wedding (Ceremony in Baulkham Hills, Reception in Schofields)
