There was thread put up earlier this evening with the above heading. Some members added to it. The links in it were all trojans or viruses. If any member clicked on a link, run an antivirus checker over their machine.

Did you get caught out Glen or are you just warning everyone?

I was looking at the links trying to work out if he was directing us to a gambling site or promoting a gambling book as all the links led to one site. Either way I was going to delete the thread. Clicked on one and Mcafee instantly picked it up as a trojan. Goodbye thread and IP ban here we come

IP banned. Member consigned to the VI bin. Which is way more than this lowlife deserves.

Referring to them as trash is actually quite degrading. To trash.

Probably a bot.

I've been noticing that we've been getting quite a few of them lately.

Those bots (and visible (in source) email addresses) are possibly the reason why gmail is filtering 800+ spam messages per week from my account which has only ever been used and visible in this forum.... Unless there is someone out there who reeeeally does not like me :). I am glad I yanked my private address when I did.

Cheers

Glen,
Great works and well done.
After them and give them a flick is the right action.

Unlikely with the visual confirmation required for completion of the signup page.

I'm thinking of changing the signup procedure so that it requires admin approval for activation. It shouldn't be too problematic as we seem to get between 2 and 5 signups daily.

I looked in the poster's profile and saw that he signed up in 2004.

Andrew,

???

I'm seeing that he signed up yesterday, and his profile information also includes his IP address, which is something that I only recently (earlier this year) added.

I must not have been paying attention properly.

The first thing I check was his profile and there I noticed what I typed earlier. I was expecting that the guy had just signed up. But I guess I was wrong.
