What type of photos do you want - cityscape, alleys, animals, trees, lakes....?

City photos - have a wander around Federation Square and Southbank (the stretch between Crown Casino and the Arts Centre). Very picturesque especially during the early mornings or evenings. You can't miss Flinders Street station, it's opposite Federation Square and sticks out with the yellow facade. There's also china town as well.

Animals - Albert Park Lake or the zoo

Alleys - pick a city street :)

Trees - Any of the gardens around the city.

Whereabouts are you staying?

Thanks Piro i am staying in Collins street which i think is the main city centre ,I only have the kit and a nikon 12-24 so i need to be fairly close to the action so i guess the city streets should be ok and alleys .Some nice Panos would be nice but until i get the 200VR i dont think ill hit the zoo :lol:Cheers Stephen

I love some of the alleys off Little Londsdale street, especially down the King Street end and near the Royal Mint building... (lol I'm gathering you'll be able to get a map from somewhere) or for people and city atmosphere there's always Degraves street, been the source of a couple of good shots in the past, not to mention good coffee lol...

There's also a heap of gardens near the city, I like Flagstaff gardens at around dusk, or there's Treasury gardens at the other end. I'd just wander around town... Night shots of the Yarra and the city lights from down around Birrarung Mar (behind Federation Square) are some of my favourites...

lol I was going to say if you want landscapes or forest settings, I love the Dandenongs... but that's only cos I live up that way and like to promote local tourism, hehe... and if you're based in town, then you'd get more than enough good locations around there I think!

Have fun!!

When are you coming down and for how long? Give us an itinerary and we'll see if we can organise something.

Getting there on the 1st june and staying till 5th I have sat night booked for the lion king(have to keep the wife happy)but otherwise im fairly free would love to do some sort of meet with other members as we have never had one in Perth as there is A.not enough people or B.no one who is skilled enough is willing to have a meeting.
I would atttend a meeting in Perth but all i could do would be to demonstrate the finer points of lens cap removal and the slightly more complex task of reattachment

Alright I'll see if I can rustle a few people together or at least get my own act together during that time ;)
