The D200 wins another award....

Looks like the japanese press association like it.

"The Camera Grand Prix is the Japanese photo industry’s most prestigious award for a camera....

Established in 1984, the Camera Grand Prix has been awarded to Nikon cameras on five occasions. Previous wins occurred in 1984 (the 1st Grand Prix) for the Nikon FA; 1989 (the 6th Grand Prix) for the Nikon F4; 1997 (the 14th Grand Prix) for the Nikon F5; and 2004 (the 21st Grand Prix) for the D70."

It’s really good when a camera can win an award for being ”rare”

I take it there still aren't very many D200's in Australia?

I'm seeing them on the shelves fairly regularly here now. This is what happens when you take your time to get the product right. There creates a backlog of people wanting to get it, and it takes forever to manufactor them. Then they hawk them with kit lens' which is sort of a useless combination for all those that are trying to get them.

Yes Dave, one of the annoyances of being at the bottom of the world geographically and economically removed from the centre of the universe - the American continent. Some would add that the devil incarnate - Maxwells flounders when it comes to servicing the needs of Nikonians here. But hell how lucky are we in other respects. :)
cheers
