Want a D200?

Postby Geoff on Wed Jun 07, 2006 3:13 pm

I have it on authority that Nikon on Broadway have a NON GREY D200 in stock at the moment, brand new and verbally assured it comes with Maxwell warranty - hell just check the paperwork inside. The sales man also said I was more than ok to check the serial # and check with maxwell's themselves. Price $2595.

For anyone interested:

A photographer mate in Sydney also told me that Photo Riesel (?) in Sydney (Camera House) also had one on their shelf a few days ago. Finally, it looks like they are starting to appear

By July all shops should have in stock.....Nikon word.

I think if you can wait a month or so you will get better price.

Damn, Geoff, I opened up this thread expecting (or rather, hoping) that you'd tell us where/how we can get a free D200 ;)

Hopefully the supply issues get fixed up, and everyone who has one on order will receive their D200s soon!

Jeko

$2595 seems like a decent price to me, especially considering that they are in short supply. I would not be waiting for prices to come down if I was in the market for one. No guarantees that all shops will be stocked by next month - it seems that the same promise has been made every few weeks for the past 6 months.

Cheers

The shop in Melb cnr Hardware Lane and Little Bourke Street had one in the window too. Didn't see the price.

I'm waiting for Birdy to be satisfied as to quality and launch at the good price :D

Good work Geoff. The big nasty line now appearing in my D70 shots may expedite matters, but I am really hoping for a Birdy Breakthrough :D

Ifr you miss it, I'll give you my sister's contact info. She's an optometrist. :)

So far I have only seen one in the shop in Brisbane city but have seen long gone.

I have also seen 2 or 3 at the hands of amateurs.

Hi all,

Was at Foto Riesel in the city last evening. They have a demo D200 and also said they had 30 arriving this week. Saw about 30 batteries, so most probably the bodies are also arriving/arrived.

Quoted cost was $2700 (body only) and also an additional $45 for an extra years warranty.

Nosh.

Also saw one today in the flesh at DigiLife at Whitford City ~ not sure of the price though. Did not want to look.
