Saw this on the side of the road,

The picture tells the story, what the car hit is laying in the background :(

Now I remember why I don't speed, especially at night :)

Yes i admit, these animals do lots of damage and there are places around here i will not drive of a night time in my car, dont mind if i am in the truck but yeh we are surrounded by them big grasshoppers.

Where i am about to go now there are lots on the way but least in daylight you can see them most times. I have a few trips over the Victorian border coming up and always try to make my appointments where i dont travel in the dark.

If only we could have a big fence down either side of the road, well better go drive for an 1 1/2 hrs to the Hospital i am going to have an Operation in a couple of weeks.

Nice pic andy, pic says it all and 1 less roo oh and Commodore on the road.

Thanks,

I knew a guy who hit one of those a while ago....

He was on a motor cycle going down to Phillip Island to watch the bike races. He ended up watching the races in hospital.

Andy, i thought this was a roo, just a biggin, but yeh these animals that stray on the road are a worry. I have just come back from my trip over into Victoria and only seen 1 roo and 1 boong chook=Emu and well was glad to get home before they all started popping up. We are surround by Pine forest and scrub so we see plenty on the roads and as i used to tow cars etc.. have picked up pleanty of wrecks in my time.

BBJ & Huynhie,

Until last year when I moved up here, I always had a motorbike, I am so glad I sold it and replaced it with camera gear!

The roads are so straight that, well, you know, you get a bit like

I have had to many "close calls" with run offs into the bush to know that sooner or later my number is going to come up!

As an aside, I bought a 4WD earlier in the year, and to stop the nagging from my friends I had $900 worth of driving lights installed. So glad I did, so far they have paid for themselves twice over! :D ..... and I do not speed at night
