riiiight...

Existing Pixmantec customers will continue to be supported by Adobe and will be provided with an upgrade path to the Adobe digital imaging product family.

I'm guessing the "upgrade path" will be a paid upgrade path then. :?

Yeah, but now all of you Rawshooter kids can see it inside Photoshop. Only pay for one upgrade.
Big wheels turning, eh?

Business is business - I applaud Pixmantec for managing to attract the attention of a bigger fish!

I'm not saying it was their intent, but for some companies one of their aims is sometimes to get bought out by [Microsoft/Adobe/whoever]. Hopefully at least some of Pixmantec's shareholders are happy!

Interestingly, iView (makers of MediaPro) have just been bought by Microsoft...
As an active MediaPro user, I must admit this hit a bit closer to home. But not a bad thing at this point (MediaPro isn't being discontinued [yet]).

It's not hard to understand why. Rawshooter is available free and is the only program a lot of folk would need. It is powerful and provides excellent quality. That means less sales for Adobe PhotoShop. I wouldnt be suprised if they now just pulled it off the web and buried it.

Quite a few people have not been happy about the performance of ACR and Adobe couldn't or wouldn't change it much. Maybe this is a backhanded way of admitting it without admitting it - so to speak.

I didn't know Imedia was taken over by Microslop DavidB - I too use mediapro and I think the only direction for them now is down...Bu(toyota)ger.

Well hopefully before they bury, they extra all the good bits and recycle them, it would be a shame to waste it.
