Question: EN-EL3e MH18 ??The battery charger for the EN-EL3 (D70 battery) is the MH18
The battery charger for the EN-EL3e (D200 battery) is the MH18a Does anyone know if it is OK to charge the EN-EL3e in the MH18 ??? (Why? you ask - well, it would enable two batteries to be charged at the same time for those of us who have both chargers) Greg - - - - D200 etc

Yes, no problem Greg!
May take longer with MH-18 on EN-EL3e or vice versa. OMG!!!!! it took so long for you to charge the battery up since last Friday so no photo of new baby yet! Birddog114

Thanks Birdy I actually charged up both batteries at work on Friday afternoon so ready to play as soon as I got home! Just sorting out D70 stuff and noticed the charger - almost identical! Anyway, thanks Greg - - - - D200 etc

According to Thom Hogan, the only difference between the two batteries is that the EN-EL3e has a third contact which is used for giving the battery information to the camera.
There is no reason that the new battery can't be charged on the older charger as long as the remaining two terminals line up with the contacts in the battery charger. Stuart 'Tis better to have loved and lust than never to have lust at all.
And when Nikon recalled the batteries from the D70, they replaced it with the EN-EL3e.
