I have to say that these arbritrary decisions by administrators give me the irrits. It's the same with rugby - they schedule Bledisloe Cup Test Matches between Aus and Them (NZ
) in Melbourne too.
They say that it is to promote the sport, but what it really does is alienate the real supporters of the game who are denied the chance to see the game they love.
There was a legal action up here some time back between life members and the Queensland Rugby Union about matches not being played at Ballymore, the traditional Qld home of rugby. The administrators wanted to move the matches to get more bums on seats, forgetting about the life-long supporters of the game who had kept it afloat in the 60s and 70s by buying life memberships. The life members were being forced to pay again for tickets after having bought life memberships.
You shouldn't bite the hand that feeds you.
