Cracking the K's

Postby stubbsy on Wed Jul 05, 2006 5:52 pm

Seems a few members have recently broken through a 1K chunk posting limit and been missed so...

Wendellt - congrats Wendell on your 2k - hit mid June

avkomp - congrats Steve on your 2K - hit early June

Pirostitch - Congrats Wayne on your 2K - hit in late May

Nikonuser - congrats Paul on 1K - hit late June

MattC - congrats Matt on your 1K - hit late June

Nito - congrats Nghia on your 1K - hit early June

Darb - congrats Brad on your 1K - hit way back in March

Now can I suggest that we should stop this practice henceforth for two reasons:

1. This place is getting so big it's too easy to miss a 1K milestone (or in Birdy's case it happens every week or so  )

2. The mere fact this doesn't get noticed doesn't mean contributions aren't appreciated yet it could look that way. ie people being missed would, with some justification feel slighted or that people play favourites which is not the case.

All those against raise their right hand now

OK motion carried

Thanks Stubbsy. don't worry, no offense taken that it wasn't mentioned before :)

I've been busy enough lately that I've hardly had time to take pics let alone pay attention to my post count :D

Congrats to the rest of the Ks and agreed, please stop it as at one stage just about every 4th post was a congrats on a K....

Myahardia, we have almost 2,000 members, so if everyone congratulates everyone else once, We have 2000 more posts each and the machine has enough return posts for twice what it has just done. Does that make sense? Like a perpetual motion machine but worse a perpetual congratulating machine

I concur, and I will lock the thread

a. in honour of Stubbsy's idea, and
2. to prevent a whole bunch of posts, and therefore partially undo the good to be done

Locked 8)

No, it's actually quite irrelevant, I think.

This is a photography forum, with a few common interest areas on the side.

None of those are mutual appreciation society sections, and while we do appreciate the contributions that everyone makes, they're surely better acknowledged by other means.
