Hi Guys. Sorry if this has been asked but I applied for a rebate over the web, sending in a photo of my warranty cards and receipt, how long do you think I should wait before receiving a response from Nikon?

Regards,
Owen.

Normally, it'll take from 2-4 weeks, some of our members got the rebates less than 2 weeks.

Relax, this time of the year, you won't get it fast!!!!
cos lot of people are still on holiday, I tried them this morning for few products but their product managers are still off.

I filled in the rebate form over the web as well and anxiously awaited the confirmation email the site said I would receive.......still not here....so you aren't alone.

Ah, well at least I'm not alone. When did you send yours in? I sent mine in last monday I think it was.

Owen, Deb,

I too didn't get the confirmation email, but the rebate cheque arrived last week. About four weeks from web-submission to snail-mailbox.

Thanks Gary, I won't check my email every 5 minutes waiting for it now :)

About the 31st (I'm pretty sure it was just before the public holidays). I waited a few days, thought maybe it didn't go through so I tried to submit it again, but got the message there was already a claim for that serial number, so I have since stopped worrying about it.

But from memory the website mentioned 28 days for the refund to come through.

Your Nikon D70 cashback claim has been approved. Your $200 cheque will be dispatched to you within 2 - 4 weeks.

Thank you again for choosing to purchase the D70. Welcome to the world of Nikon.

I received this email confirmation on the 6th of Jan and applied for the rebate somewhere around the 22nd December.

I'm sure it'll turn up eventually :)

I completed the form on the web site around 7 Dec and have heard diddly - no email confirmation & no cheque. I figure if I've heard nothing by the middle of Jan I'll pester Maxwell. I'd like the check so I can swap it with birddog for some glass and plastic

Hmm interesting... i better give mine to the finance company that's loaning me the camera until I give them enough bits of coloured paper. Tempting to get one of those cheap 50mm lenses though!

I sent mine via the web on the 18th December and haven't heard anything back yet... Like others I was allowing for Christmas fever, but if I haven't heard anything by end of month - I'll be right on their case...

Hell even got the 35m Yashica outfit sitting dead as well.LOl

At risk of saying something complementary about Maxwells :)

I have some experience with rebate schemes, particularly an annual experience with Symantec (Norton) stuff when I upgrade my security software.

In this case, I put the application in on the web (didn't have to snail mail). Tick one to Maxwell.

I got a confirmation eMail straight away (although I nearly deleted it as spam because it either had a strange sender or had no subject). Tick two.

Cheque arrived in about three weeks as promised. Tick three.

I've never experienced such a quick and efficient rebate process before.

The one downer is that it seems the membership to Club Nikon is not processed unless you send warranty information again by snail mail to the same place - so not 100% pass mark :!:

Hi Ru, I got the same the email was from Nobody <nobody@ww2.maxwell.com.au> so i too nearly deleted it, but thats what i got just before xmas.

ts good to see that other people are waiting too.

i sent my rebate in via snail mail about a week before christmas and havent heard a thing yet.

i guess the longer we wait, the more time we have to dream about what we can buy with the refund.

Just following up.
Applied for rebate via website and got an email yesterday approving the rebate (and promising within 2 weeks).

For the record from application to notification - close to 4 weeks - but I suspect the holidays had a lot to do with it!!

Now to spend it!

Like Stubbsy, I put my claim in before you. I think all claims go into a "Lucky Dip" barrell and they pick out a few daily winners at random

I received my cheque at the beginning of this week.....I put the claim in via the internet on the 31st of December, got the email on the 12th and then the cheque only a few days later....

.....it sounds like you might need to check if everything was received OK.

Good Luck.....

As far as I know, if you have received the confirmation email from Maxwell after the 20th Dec. you'll have a chance to receive your rebate cheque in the mail in Feb.
The last Rebate cheque run on the 21 or 22nd Dec and 10 Jan. and the next one will be end of this week or next week.
January is not the good month to chasing up all the payments, due to the holiday seasons until end of Jan.

Maxwells have just sent me back my original warrenty cards which i sent them for this claim, strange that they didn't pop the cheque in the same envolope?
I recieved the standard e-mail a week ago, so hopefully by Feb I should have more spending power for my next lens!

Well I rang Maxwell 2 weeks ago and got put through to Hayleigh who is handling this. She had voicemail on so I left a message saying I'd heard diddly and asking her to ring back. She didn't. So I thought "what the heck" and went back late last week and registered online for the rebate again.

Don't know which of the 2 actions did it, but I got an email yesterday saying my cashback had been approved - first contact back I've had since my first attempt in early December

Well I tried to register again two nights ago and it wouldn't let me, it said they already had an application for that serial number.

So my guess is if you got to fill it in again then it didn't register the first time?

Wish they'd hurry up with mine though!

If you bought the camera already, you still have until end of March to lodge your rebate form.

Well I've got sick of waiting, so I rang Maxwell this morning and like you got put through to Hayley and guess what? I had to leave a voicemail message :x I just left my name and number, no reason why I was ringing so hopefully she might ring back rather than ignoring another "Where's my bloody money" message :!:
