Quite descriptive signs in Sydney

Postby Willy wombat on Tue Jul 18, 2006 12:43 am

I laughed when I saw an amusing sign on Sydney rail this morning.

Kiss'n'park - when I lived at Woop-woop, my partner used to drop me off at epping station in the kiss'n'park (aka Kiss'n'ride etc).

It would go like this -
Drive to station
Park
Kiss goodbye
get on train

Reverse in the evenings...

got the gist? :D

why is it so blurry?

were you smoking something that the sign clearly (although probably not to you) stated was prohibited?

Sydney has a habit of making a sign prohibiting anything and everything. I'm not sure if this is just a Sydney thing, or whether it is all of Australia. There is certainly nothing like it in Europe

I can't help myself snapping some when I see them:

(sorry if this is a hijack WW, let me know and I will move it elsewhere)

You can't beat the below for sheer comprehensiveness, but particularly notice the 'general warning' in the middle at the bottom...

Classics!!

I have a photo somewhere (can't seem to find it atm) from my trip to Sydney in 2002; it was a laser printed sign in a 7-11 stuck to a basket of fruit and it proclaimed "We now sell APPLES" and underneath they had printed the Apple logo!

I had to snap it and send it to my Apple tech friend!

(Cos it was sooooo hard to see that they sell apples!!)
