Need quick Video editing help!

Postby owen on Wed Aug 09, 2006 12:07 am

Hey guys. I've been working on a video that my wife is in need of for tomorrow, I need to blur/block some people's names out of the video for privacy reasons. All I have is Windows Movie Maker and also I downloaded Avid Free DV. Does anyone know if it's possible to do it using any of these tools or other easily obtainable programs?

Thanks,
Owen.

Thanks Geoff. I'm making progress, figured out how to get it to load into this avid program. Had to convert it from a 56MB .wmv file into a 900+MB .avi file :o I'll keep at it...

Kinda got what I needed... that avid free dv program is pretty powerful for a freebie.

You should be able to grab a demo of Vegas and do this using a mask over the information you want to... well... mask.

That said, I have no idea if you can do this in the free Avid app but I'd doubt you can do it in Windows Movie Maker.

Thanks Leigh. I found a box tool that allowed me to just put a box on the second video track and lay it over the top of the other one. I stuffed up a bit when exporting the video file, it turned out pretty pixelated but Lisa says it's alright.

Cheers,
Owen.
