Photo on CD

Postby barry on Mon Sep 18, 2006 3:12 pm

On the weekend I took photos at a wedding and I now want to give then to the bride and groom on CD.

I shot in Raw so I will be PP'ing for levels, colour and sharpness etc and then converting to high quality J-pegs.

My question is do I crop and size for the finished shot (and best impact) or leave them unsized and let then do the sizing when they get their prints done.

I also want to some 6x4 prints as well.

What is the best way to do this considering I have around 400 shots to do.

Hi Barry
Are you "giving" the images to the Bride for free or are you organising for prints to be made and selling them to her ?

If you're giving them to her, I'd save them at a native size for 6x4's (at 300dpi would be 1800px x 1200px). She can then take them wherever she likes and have photos printed.

If you're selling them, I'd go for low-res images she can choose from and ask her to let you know which one's she wants (and what sizes).

If she's after any enlargements, I'd resize them to whatever size is required.
