Hi All, ok i see i have a couple of small dust spots, i can see them on a bright blue sky pics i took awhile ago. Now i could just give it a blow with rocket or do i like take lens off and turn camera on and do that mirror lock up as i cant clean the censor as dont have a swab thingy or do i just give it a good blowjob??? lol

Do it with a good blow job! hehehehe!
Use the Giotto Air Rocket, the camera faces down in angle, if it's not cleaned then blow again and again. If dust are still there! OK go for the Pec*Pad + Eclipse Fluid.
The Giotto should work well.

Ok Thanks Birdy, and are those censor swap things are they hard to get hold of and or do people make up some sort of other device?

Go to supermarket and pinch one of the plastic knife, it'll do the job.
Look into few CCD cleaning threads on our forum, simple, easy then having a bourbon!

Ok Will look into that birdy just gave it a blow but looks like on top of the mirror is a spot that didn't move with the blow. Any suggestions?

if you are using the gitzo rocket it sure will get a good blowjob !!
i got mine from birddog with some sensor cleaning gear as well and only cost about $146 dollars was a bit scary first time but have done it three times since sensor isnt perfectly clean but saves me a lot of time cloning those little sh..s out

Hi Rob yeh thanks i have all that gear as well but no swap and well yeh when i take lens of and look at the mirror i can see a spot on it, dont think that is the censor so i gather the censor is underneath it maybe, correct me if i am wrong but yeh i can see like 2 lil spots.

BBJ,
When you take the lens off, look straight into the chamber and see the a square mirror, It's not the CCD, only you can see it by use MLU.

Ok So I can see spots on it what is best way to clean that or dont touch that all? or does it not make a differance?

Birdy u mean MLU= mirror in up if so do u do this with the lens off and turn on?

MLU = Mirror Lock Up mode in menu setting

Exactly.

It's an option on the camera's menu system. Make sure that your battery has a reasonable charge beforehand. Fully charged is good. Half charged is ok.

Flat means it needs pumping up.

Ok Thanks guys, i did that gave it a quick blow did a test pic and not so bad so we will see how it goes. I think it will need a clean first but i know a photographer and well i might see if he does his if he uses digital and see when i get to do it that he is around just incase.LOL

i put my cam in manual, then select bulb mode, then depress shutter to lift mirror up then slide my battery out and i dont have to worry about having a charged battery in there and if there's no battery i suppose the sensor isnt charged ( dont know if thats a fact though, or if it makes a difference ) so i know the mirror is not going to slam shut on me at any time while my hand is in there shaking .....i believe i got these tips from this forum
